LIMITLESS

This film from director Neil Burger is one that makes you feel as if you never knew anything in your life. I say this because the main character in this film is highly intelligent and knows what he is doing. This film i have to say is being added to my list of my favorite business movies next to the two Wall Street films and Boiler Room. I have this momentum that starts up whenever i see a film like this it makes knowing more than the other person seem bad ass. I liked this movie in all fairness and think it is good enough to buy when it's released. I have to say that Bradley Cooper's transformation from being a comedic guy in "The Hangover" and being a mellow guy in the film "Case 39 to being an overly sophisticated man who has no limits with a drug addiction is marvelous. I loved the plot because it was different from your average action thriller. It took the concept of limitless knowledge and put's it into a small pill though tiny has big consequences. The plot of this intelligent business action thriller is as follows. Bradley Cooper plays Eddie Mora a writer who is stuck with writers block as he cannot finish his book. Eddie is a bum his life is going downhill, his girlfriend has dumped him in public and his financial status isn't good. One day Eddie runs into his ex wife's brother on the street and while catching up in a local bar Eddie is offered a miraculous pill that allows 100% usage of the brain meaning of course limitless knowledge. Eddie uses the pill and his life gets back on track and everything is getting way better but there's a problem the pill effects memory, meaning every time Eddie takes a pill or two he can use 100% of his brain but a small percent of his memory will erase. This however is a problem along with local business man Carl Van Loon played by Robert Deniro who wants Eddie to make him rich but at the same time Eddie is under investigation for a local murder and is being followed by a local loan shark for more of the pills. Eddie must find a way to save himself while at the same time get rid of his addiction to the NZT. This film has a great plot to it and it is not afraid to throw in some twist and turns to. I loved how it had consequences for taking the pill not just a give and take situation. Without taking the pill Eddie became sick and weak and thats what made this idea for limitless knowledge in the form of a pill worth it. My favorite scene in this film is when Eddie needed a dose of the pill but a local loan shark has raided his place in search for more. The henchmen are in the opposite room looking for the pills in a safe while Eddie is in the other room drinking the blood from the dead loan shark so he can unlock his knowledge. This scene was vulgar but it had moral to it, it showed that when you are desperate for something no matter how dangerous or disgusting it is you will risk it. I liked this movie and was intrigued that Abbie Cornish was in this film along with another film she was in Sucker Punch.
