This film from one of my favorite directors Robert Rodriguez is his most badass and kick-ass films that he has ever made in his directing career. when i first saw this movie's trailer it was fake just something put together on Planet Terror to make you laugh. The trailers popularity assured Rodriguez that this movie would definately make him some money and gain him more fame. Obviously Robert didn't ignore his instincts and made the movie. I really enjoyed it when i watched it in theaters it was even more badass then the fake trailer showed it to be. The plot, Danny Trejo plays Machete a mexican day laborer who looks for jobs on a day to day basis. One day a man drives up in a limo asking Machete to come inside. The man offers Machete a chance to restore order in the state of texas by killing the new senator who is re-inforcing the border with electrified fences to make sure mexican's cannot cross the border ilegally. The senator is played by Robert Deniro and the border patrol leader s played by Don Johnson. This film basically follows machete as he gets revenge for being double crossed by the men who hired him and for revenge on his wifes murder at the beginning of the film. I loved the cast in this film starring people such as Jeff Fahey,Steven Seagal,Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba.
The film had some badass scenes in it. My favorite scene in this film is the scene in which Danny Trejo is in the hospital and in order to escape the hitmen he rips out one of their intestines and uses it as a rope to get from one window to the other. This scene was so badass along with the infamous riding the machine turret motorcycle over the wall of fire behind him. I cannot wait to purchase the 2-disc blu-ray disc combo pack on dvd in january. This film is standing at one of Robert Rodriguezes best films yet. This is one movie that when given the chance you should view and certainly purchase. Please watch Machete on dvd in january.
