This film from director Matt Reeves is truly one that deserves recognition for being a great edition to his directing career. I bought this movie taking a chance not knowing if i would like it or not. Although i knew the reviews were positive and friends that i knew liked it i didnt know if i would. I had mediocre expectations for this film and was left stunned by how great the mixture of the vampires killing spree with romance and love was beautifully combined. I did not regret buying the film but was left wanting more killing. The plot follows a girl named Abby played by Chloe Grace Moretz who moves into an apartment complex with her guardian who is played by Richard Jenkins. Abby meets a local boy named Owen who is played by Kodi Smit McPhee. Owen is constantly bullied by local kids and doesnt know how to defend himself, Owen aso finds himself caught in a wirlwind of problems because his parents are getting a divorce. Basically the movie follows the love between Abby and Owen and the issues that her guardian must go through on a daily basis to feed Abby. It is a not so complicated plot but there is one minor detail that affects Abby and Owen's love. Abby is a vampire and must kill to survive, Owen doesnt know but just thinks Abby is regular average girl that he likes. This plot detail in turn does not complicate the plot anymore than it is. I liked how the director put the car crashes in the movie or the killings that were in a vehicle as a one shot frame. This meaning that the director didnt get alot of different angles to show you that the shot wasn't cut or trimmed and pasted together, it is one continuous shot. My favorite scene in this movie is the scene in which the local school boys try to make Owen hold his breathe underwater for three minutes and as Owen is underwater the camera is on him and does not change, suddenly a creature is scene flying quickly above the top of the water and scream can be heard. After that the hand that was holding Owen underwater is loose and the boys decapitated head falls in the water. This scene was put together great and it was one of th few times that we actually saw Abby kill somebody brutally. This movie for director Matt Reeves is definately one that is another great edition to his directing career. Since his last film Cloverfield which i enjoyed very much Matt Reeves decided to take on the challenge of remaking a great horror movie LET THE RIGHT ONE IN and turning it into LET ME IN which is his own style of the movie or the way he thought that the novel should look on screen. This movie is great and kept me interested the whole time. I would definately reccomnd this film for those who like Cloverfield or those who like Vampire horror films. Please view this great edition to director Matt Reeves career.

GRADE- B+
