This installment in the saw franchise is an informative flashback movie. This movie basically focused on detective peter strahm solving the case of who is Jigsaw's new accompliss and it also revolves around another 5 players who are in jigsaw traps. I mainly watched this movie for agent strahm and Hoffman just so i could find out who would kill who first. The survivors such as Meagan Good who were stuck in the jigsaw traps were just a bonus. The traps in this saw movie were minor compared to the other traps in the saw franchise. My favorite trap in this movie was the trap in which agent strahm's head was trapped in a box but his arms and legs were free. The box would fill with water and he would drown if he didn't do something. The way he escaped was unexpected. Basically the movie starts where saw 3 and 4 left off in the warehouse. It follows Hoffman as he survives the aftermath of the traps and it also follows agent strahm as he is trying to figure out who hoffman really is. Besides the plot which was bearable for a saw movie the acting was mediocre. I wanted more gore, more cursing and slightly better acting. I don't know who put director David Hackle in charge but he should never touch another saw script again. View this informative flashback installment in this gore fest money making franchise.
