One of Scorsese's best films, this true story mafia movie is one of the best mafia movies i have ever seen. It is by far one of the best mafia movies ever made. The plot revolves around three decades of life in the mafia. Ray Liotta plays henry a kid who all throughout his life has always wanted to be a gangster. He would do jobs for bosses and do whatever he wanted untill he was up there with the big dogs. Throughout the three decades of life in the mafia problems occur like in any mafia film and everything changes to test the loyalty of any wiseguy. I loved that the selected cast for this film was a great group of people who knew how to really become wiseguys on camera. The cast included stars such as Robert Deniro, Joe Pesci, Pual Sorvino, Lorraine Bracco and Frank Vincent. This movie's plot was so excellent that when the actors did their best to play out their roles and tell the story it was brought out so original and amazing. I honestly loved this movie so much that at times i believed what was going on in the film. It was as if the story being told was real like it was just footage caught on tape. I loved how the narrarations referred to the story in progress as not a movie as if it was a real story. My favorite scene in this movie is the scene in which Tommy(Joe Pesci) is sitting at a table in a bar with a bunch of other wiseguys like Henry( Ray Liotta) and telling funny stories. When Henry announces that Tommy is a funny guy Tommy begins to question why Henry thinks that and then he begins to show what a badass wiseguy really is. I personally think that Martin Scorsese is one of the best directors of mafia movies alive. Scorsese definately makes good mafia movies but this is one of his best. I love mafia movies and this is pretty close to my favorite one. Please view another one of scorsese's excellent films in his directing career.
