This film by director David O.Russel is truly one that deserves recognition. This fillm was great in every way and will go down as my new favorite boxer movie in front of Million Dollar Baby and Raging Bull. This film was great it had all the elements to make it a good boxer film. I think that David O.Russel much like Clint Eastwood and Martin Scorsese got it right when they made their boxer movies. The film had a strong plot which easily nominated it to be a candidate as a good movie, second the movie had a great cast with actors/actresses such as Mark Whalberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Melissa Leo. The movie almost made me cry in its touching revelation with Christian Bale's chraracter. I didn't expect Christian Bale to be as good as he was and i'm glad he was awarded for his great performance. The film's ever so strong plot is as follows. Mark Whalberg plays Micky Ward a small time boxer who isn,t that famous because he is called a "Stepping Stone". Along with his mother/manager Alice Ward played by Melissa Leo and his crack addicted brother Dicky played by Christian Bale his life isnt going that great. Losing fights here and there but when Micky meets Charlene played by Amy Adams he decides to change his life around after losing a fight that he assured everyone he would win. This involves a new manager and his brother cannot train with him anymore. The movie is very dramatic and i loved the balance between drama and the fighting in the film. I saw a good amount of Boxing time throughout the film, it was basically a one up for the film itself. I loved the revelation with Micky's brother Dicky's crack addiction and how he overcame it. I had never seen Christian Bale in a more stronger role than "The Dark Knight" untill now. Christian Bale was amazing in this film and changed the way an actor can go in depth with his character. The film in general was great an epic masterpiece from my view. I hope that David O.Russel does not crush this amazing film by giving it a sequel i mean look what happened to Rocky it was a great film but every other edition besides Rocky Balboa was not as good and it clashed with the original. My favorite scene in this film is the scene in which Micky is fighting in the boxing ring and is getting beaten to a pulp the blood sprays and it feels as if i am watching a real boxing match. I loved this movie and i loved the cast once again Christian Bale was amazing and i would enjoy purchasing this movie on Blu Ray.
