This movie is one of the best horror movies that revolve around a child killer that i have ever seen since The Good Son. I watched this film with the reccomendations of friends and was told it was good. i had good expectations and was left with a great movie experience. I wanted to wacth it again as soon as it was over because for some reason the film was just one of those movies you cant look away from and i didn't. Basically the plot is revolved around a nine year old girld named Esther played by Isabelle Fuhrman who is adopted by a family with the mother Kate who is played by Vera Farmiga and the father John who is played by Peter Sarsgaard. Esther seems like a beautifull girl with no problems but after being in her new household strange things appear to happen and Esther is always nearby when they do so the movie goes on from there detailing Esther's murderous ways and Kate's point of view to try and stop Esther and prove that she is the cause of all this madness before its to late. I liked this movie for a couple of reasons one of which that state that i loved how Esther manipulated Kate and threatened her because she knew everyone was on her side and if Kate did anything it would just prove that she was out of control. This movie had some jumps in it because when i watched it at home on my surround sound because i missed the theatrical experience whenever Esther would pop up i would jump because there would always be a sort of boom behind her appearance. My favorite scene in this movie is the scene in which Esther is going to school with her brother Daniel played by Jimmy Benett and while Kate is helping Daniel put his things that fell out of his bags back in Esther goes into the car and pushes the emergency release brake and puts the car in reverse with little siter Max in the back seat. This scene was such an example that shows that no matter how close to Esther you are she will still hurt you. I wanted to go into the movie and punch Esther right in her face at some points. The twistfilled ending was amzing because it was something that no one expected to happen. This movie is a great film and comes with a good reccomendations from me. Please enjoy this great thriller of a movie.
