This film is by far one of the best X-Men movies behind X2:X-men united. This film was astonishing in every way and took me completely by surprise. The film was well put together and the director Mathew Vaughn the man who brought us the ever so awesome Kick-Ass film knew how to handle one of Marvel's greatest franchise's. My expectations were good but no where near expecting what this film had thrown out at me. The film turned out to be stunning and brilliantly executed. The cast was superior and even the small characters in the film were interesting and made a difference. This film also incorporated as most x-men films do our history involved with mutants. I loved this movie and await its dvd release. The plot of this stunning film is as follows. James McAvoy plays Charles Xavier a mutant capable of reading minds and freezing time for short periods. Charles meets Raven also known as Mystique played by Jennifer Lawrence one night while being awoken in the middle of the night by a noise in his kitchen. Mystique has the ability to shape shift into any human being she wants. Raven and Charles basically stay together for years untill they are faced with the Cuban missile crisis. The C.I.A is looking for a person capable of putting together a team that can help overcome this crisis and also looking for a man named Shaw played by Kevin Bacon. Shaw was at the concentration camp in which Erik a.k.a Magneto bent the gates that seperated him and his mother . Shaw holds up Erik and forces him to use his powers of controlling metal to move a coin or his mother will be shot. This in turn unlocks the secret that Erik can only use his powers when angry. With Erik searching for Shaw one night Charles Xavier is on a boat nearby with the C.I.A on their way to get shaw when the two meet. Erik joins Charles's team along with Hank McCoy(Beast) ,Angel, Banshee, Mystique, Darwin and Havok. The team must suit up and prepare to stop Shaw before he begins World War 3. The film is very well put together and i enjoyed every minute of it. The film is a great superhero movie such as Spiderman 2 and Iron Man. Marvel is capable of producing amazing superhero movies such as this. The movie had the lowest box office opening out of all X-men movies ever made but it is now the best reviewed in the whole franchise. I enjoyed this film alot and my favorite scene in this film was the scene in which Magneto is on the island with Professor X and the rest of the team and after gaining his full potential of powers he stops and reverses the missiles launched at them. This scene was amazing in the sense of stopping objects like missiles moving as fast as bullets. This scene was amazing and my favorite mutant in the film was Magneto because not only of his power but of his will to do what is necessary. I recommend this film for fans of the X-men films. As everyone one should know this film is a prequel not a sequel.
