This is another astounding accomplishment by director Christopher Nolan who is undoubtadly a "Golden Director" a phrase that i use to describe directors who have made films that never flop or get below astonishing reviews. I believe whatever films Nolan makes have to be masterpiece's such as his films "The Dark Knight","Batman Begins", "Momento", "Insomnia", "Inception", and "Follower". I love all of his films that i have viewed and i am on a hunt to collect all of his films. This film has a great cast and a member that i frequently see in his films Christian Bale. The cast for this film was excellent and the plot intrigued me so much that i was eager to peer into it and purchase it before seeing it. I also love that Christopher Nolan incorporated Tesla the historical scientist of history in this film. The thought of magicians was good enough for Nolan but the fact that he incorporated the rivalry between them and the amazing machine that changed everything was beyond amazing. Christopher Nolan hands down you are one of the best directors of all time. The plot of this brilliant work of film is as follows. Robert Angier played by Hugh Jackman is a talented stage performer of magic also known as a magician. Angier works with Alfred Borden a friend of his on a magic show where they pretend to be audience members in order to sell the trick. One day the trick goes horribly wrong after Borden ties a different knot on Angier's wife's hands to lower her into the water tank. Angier haunted by the radical question of "Which Knot Did He Tie???" sabotages Borden's act and in return Borden does the same to Angier and from there they begin a rivalry to prove who is the better magician. The story is great and it truly proves that revenge is a disease it can turn you into something your not. The story was amazing Scarlett Johansson gave a great perfomance as well as Rebecca Hall, Michael Caine and David Bowie. As always Nolan incorporates his legendary questionable ending in this one. A phrase in this movie is one that should be followed in order to understand the moral of the story and understand its ending. The phrase is "Are You Watching Closely???"The film had some incredible magic acts and was sure amazing with its ability to make the film appear very old and set on that time period. My favorite part in this film is the scene in which the movie is only 10 minutes in and it shows Christian Bale going below stage to see how Jackman does his trick. Jackman falls below stage into a tank of water with a padlock this in turn trapping him inside. Borden is horrified because Anger is trying to escape and Borden can't break the glass in time which in turn drowns him. This is in some ways a spoiler but a minor one at best because it is where the movie starts off. I loved this movie and you should look into it because it is one hell of a great ride.
