THE NEXT THREE DAYS

This film is another stunning achievement in the directing career of Paul Haggis. This movie was brilliantly put together by a an astounding director that knows his stuff and is coming up in the world of film. I loved the last 40 minutes of the movie because they were so thrilling and exhilarating. I honestly didn't have more than mediocre expectations for this film but after i saw this film i was proven wrong. This movie combined its re-used concept with new and more thrilling details. What i mean by "Re-Used" concept is that the jailbreak idea has been used many times in many films but this one took that idea and combined it with more thrills. It was a very good idea to show the emotionality in this film between Russel Crowe and Elizabeth Banks. This made the movie all the more thrilling and interesting to watch. The plot of this great film is as follows. Russel Crowe plays John Brennan a man that loves his wife and kid and will go to any length to protect them, his wife Lara Brennan played by the gorgeous Elizabeth Banks is a working woman who indeed loves her family the same way. Lara is framed for the murder of her boss by a stunning amount of evidence that leads to her. John knowing that his wife is innocent and refusing to leave his wife behind bars for the rest of her life goes on a search for a man that has escaped 7 prisons looking for help on how to get his wife out. Damon Pennington is played by Liam Neeson, this is the man who has escaped 7 times. Dmon gives John the tips on how to get Lara out and from there the film begins to show the emotion between the love of a man and the law. Quoting Liam Neeson from this film "you gotta ask yourself are you the type of person that can kill a guard, leave your kid at a gas station, push over some nice old lady because she gets in your way, because to do this that's the type of person you have to become". This line gives the motivation for the whole film and it reveals that Russel Crowe is a man who isn't afraid to get in depth with his character. My favorite scene in this film is the scene in which John goes to a meth lab trying to steal money for hs operation and in the process goes ape shit on a couple of guys and sets the lab on fire. This scene showed how bad ass John really was at that point and it showed that he would stop at nothing to get the money to fund his operation. This film had the perfect cast and a great director. Paul Haggis has made some other great films such as "In The Valley Of Ellah", "Crash", and the screenwriter who won 2 academy awards back to back for "Million Dollar Baby", and "Crash". This shows that Paul Haggis is a good director and is able to handle good actors and good stories. I recommend this movie for those who like drama movies and thrillers. Please view this brilliantly executed thriller from director Paul Haggis.
